General English Course

15 hours of English lessons per week

Thanks to our communicative teaching approach, students learn to use the language in real-world situations — through games, discussions, roleplays and interactive activities.

Before the course starts, each student takes a placement test to ensure they join the level that suits them best, from pre-beginner to advanced. All participants receive a workbook created by our Team specifically for every centre and a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

There’s more to Nottingham than Robin Hood and castles — and with HiSchool, students get to see it all. From vibrant city streets to peaceful green parks, every outing is a chance to explore, connect and use English in the real world.

Our social programme turns the city into a classroom, a playground, and a place to create unforgettable summer memories.

  1. Leicester: spend a wonderful day strolling around the city centre and discovering its traditional atmosphere.
  2. Manchester: live this wonderful city and visit the Cathedral, Manchester Museum, the John Rylands Library and Piccadilly gardens.
  3. Leeds: explore it and discover the Royal Armouries museum to really live the history.
  1. Robin Hood and the city: explore the city, the Castle Grounds and discover iconic places of Robin Hood in this orientation walking tour.
  2. Art, market and walk: visit the Nottingham Contemporary and enjoy its exhibitions. Explore and shop at the Sneinton Market and take a nice walk along the canal side.
  3. Lakes and deers: explore the Wollaton Hall and Park where you will be in contact with nature and luckily, meet some deers!
  4. Making at Derby: walk around the city centre and visit the Museum of Making.
  5. Shopping time! Have a nice shopping experience at Victoria Vetre Shopping Mall.
On-site activities and evening activities, organized by the HiSchool staff, offer a fun mix of entertainment and will enrich this experience to fill in the days with art, creativity and lots of magic.

  2. Iconic walk through Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, with a stop at Hamleys
  3. Explore Tower Bridge and modern art at Tate Modern
  4. A futuristic journey at the Science Museum, followed by shopping at Harrods

    Harry Potter tour: Borough Market, Millennium Bridge, Leadenhall Market, King’s Cross, Platform 9 3/4 and British Library
